Nutrient replenishment:
- N 140-160 kg/ha (depending on soil type, area, planned size), with irrigation, two applications are recommended(2/3:1/3).
- P2O5 80 kg/ha
- K2O270 - 300 kg/ha (in K2SO4form ) for drought tolerance, applied in two instalments (½ : ½) with irrigation
- MgO 60 kg/ha
- Use of banded seed tubers always, but banding of the soil is also generally recommended (Azoxistrobin provides good protection against many fungi.)
Specific recommendations:
- Susceptible to metribuzin pre- and postemergence, application should be avoided
- Pregermination is rewarded.
- Plant only in soil warmer than 8°C.
- Do not allow secondary growth too high,
- SANIBEL is susceptible to foliar phytophthora, so early and regular protection is recommended
- Protection against aphids is recommended 1-2 times
- Gentle harvesting is recommended
